Socialist and Post-socialist rural legacy in Albania
MaMo is an EU funded research project that deals with Socialist rural landscape and architecture, state-socialist vast development schemes and policies, and the Post-socialist built environment legacies that have shaped the Albanian countryside during the 20th-century.
To explore, document and argue around a significant but undervalued legacy in an ever-changing present, MaMo addresses the Albanian Socialist and Postsocialist rural architecture and landscape metamorphosis as a process through the examination of representative case studies that symbolize the complexity of its landscape and societal transformation.
MaMo aims to raise awareness and contribute to the debate on possible ways of recognizing, documenting, assessing, and reinterpreting these significant shared Albanian-European historical rural legacies.
